 Personal Psychotherapy
for Women

"You don't have to have a mental health problem, to benefit from personal therapy"

Meet Amelia

.

About my Practice

With around 16 years experience in Private Practice, I am a well-established Personal Psychotherapist and Counsellor working every week day from my home-office near the centre of Market Deeping.

I work with Stress, Anxiety and low mood and depression and I especially welcome women who are looking to feel better around family and friend relationships, relationships with partners, children, work life, interests, lifestyle and your future.

People visit from all over the Peterborough area and surrounding towns and villages.

What is a Personal Therapist?

A personal therapist is a licenced Mental Health Practitioner who you see regularly to support you to work through the psychological and physical process of your thoughts, feelings, emotions, concerns, and situations.

Therapy often involves exploring your past to uncover insights about their current feelings, behaviours, or traumas and it also can challenge unhelpful thinking and relationship patterns enabling you to remain on a life path where you are more able to feel more comfort and contentment.

This helps you to:

  • Uncover, understand, and overcome emotional disorders, mental health problems, and behaviour disorders

  • Develop better cognitive and emotional skills

  • Feel better in relationships with others and yourself

  • Reduce symptoms of mental illness

  • Cope with various life challenges

Issues I Work With

  • Understand their mind

  • Accept and understand themselves

  • Gain back their sense of identity

  • Reduce low mood or anxiety

  • Work through relationship issues with partners or family

The Present

Therapy with me is ideal after or during a change or transition that is upon you like;

  • Divorce, Separation or Relationship break-up

  • Bereavement

  • House move

  • Job change

  • 'Mid-life crisis'

  • Menopause

  • Retirement

  • Change of life direction

  • A sense that change is needed

The past

There is sometimes a need to reflect on life so far so as to be able to move into your future, and some people might need to explore issues or problems that they have not been able to successfully solve themselves and might need to process the past and how this has impacted or affected them and informed who they are today such as;

  • Trauma

  • Loss

  • Childhood Experiences & Development

  • Family Dynamics

  • Difficult Relationships with partners or other people

The Future

People often want to understand their own mind, explore their thoughts and feelings, work out what's going on for them and all want to just feel better about themselves and their lives going forward.

The aim of therapy is to ease internal conflict, stress and anxiety, improve self-esteem and relationships with others, develop personal identity and authenticity and improve one's sense of mental health, personal comfort and well-being.

Therapy can help you develop into who you were always supposed to be, understand yourself and how you are in the world, and what makes a difference to that.

We aim for a better sense of emotional wellbeing.
