Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy (seated)
'Upper Back, Neck and Shoulders'
30 min ~ £35

Hot volcanic stones are excellent for massage therapy because they retain heat exceptionally well.

While popular images often show stones simply placed on a person’s back, this doesn’t reflect how hot stone massage is typically performed.

In a true hot stone massage, the therapist uses the heated stones as an extension of their hands, massaging the body to create a deeply relaxing and therapeutic experience.

I offer a seated upper back, shoulder, upper arm and neck massage.

Thermal (Heat) Benefits from the Stones
-
Deeper Muscle Relaxation
-
Heat from the stones penetrates deeply into muscle tissue, helping to release chronic tension more effectively than manual massage alone.
-
-
Improved Circulation
-
The warmth dilates blood vessels, increasing blood flow and oxygen to the upper back and shoulders, which speeds up muscle recovery.
-
-
Pain Relief
-
Heat soothes nerve endings and reduces pain signals, especially useful for conditions like tension headaches, neck stiffness, or upper back strain.
-
Manual Massage Benefits (Combined with Heat)
-
Release of Knots and Trigger Points
-
Heat softens tight areas, making it easier for the therapist to work out knots without excessive pressure or discomfort.
-
-
Improved Posture
-
Loosens tight shoulder and neck muscles that often contribute to poor posture, especially in people who sit for long periods.
-
-
Increased Flexibility and Mobility
-
Reduces stiffness and allows for greater range of motion in the neck, shoulders, and upper spine.
-
Mental & Emotional Benefits
-
Deep Relaxation and Stress Relief
-
The combination of heat and touch induces a calming parasympathetic response, lowering cortisol and reducing anxiety.
-
-
Improved Sleep Quality
-
A relaxed upper body can reduce nighttime tension, improving sleep onset and duration.
-
-
Mental Clarity and Focus
-
Relieving tension in the upper back and neck can reduce headaches and "brain fog," helping you feel more alert and focused.
-
Unique Advantages of the Seated Position
-
Convenience and Accessibility ~Ideal for quick relief without the need to lie down or disrobe fully.
-
Better Targeting of Upper Back ~ Allows for direct access to the upper back and shoulders, areas where many people hold tension due to posture and stress
