Functional Intimacy
A type of intimacy that involves working together to manage family and household and other work responsibilities. It can help strengthen a partnership by creating a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Practical Intimacy
This is about communicating on text, email, a phone call chat, the giving of general fact, like letting a partner know where you are when youre apart and what time youll be home for supper or elsewhere.
Physical intimacy
Involves expressing affection through non-sexual touch, such as holding hands, hugging or cuddling up on the sofa.
Intellectual intimacy
Involves sharing your ideas, opinions, and life perspectives, and being open to learning from the other person. Discussing thoughts about a subject and sharing it and exploring it equally with the other person.
Psychological Intimacy
A form of 'making contact' by forming a feeling in the other person . This can happen in intimate relationships during in-depth engaging and very interesting conversations, connecting with children such as having a joint interest or way of humour and also this can happen in professional relationships while watching a motivational speaker connect with an audience, a good Manager/employee connections, similarities in friendships.

Involves sharing your deepest feelings, fears, and thoughts, and feeling safe and understood.
