Anxiety & Stress
Anxiety is a natural human response to stress, conflict, uncertainty, feeling under threat but also has some emotional & psychological roots. For some people it is mild and temporary, appearing around particular situations or periods of change. For others it can feel more intense, affecting mood, sleep, relationships, and confidence in everyday life.

When anxiety becomes disruptive or begins to limit the way we live, therapy can help by exploring not just the symptoms, but the deeper underlying causes.

Anxiety can arise for many different reasons — sometimes from a recent life event, relationship pressure, work stress, or a gradual build-up of emotional strain. In these cases therapy helps untangle what is happening, calm the nervous system, and restore a sense of steadiness and perspective.

My practice is now only focused on supporting people who have recently developed anxiety or whose anxiety is linked to a specific stressor, pressure, life change or transition, rather than those with long-standing or ongoing clinical anxiety rooted in deeper personality, developmental, or neurodivergent factors. where anxiety is part of a long-term pattern or lifelong difficulty.

In our work together, we look at what has triggered the anxiety, how the mind and body are responding, and the patterns of thought and behaviour keeping it in place. The aim is to help you return to a level of alertness that is useful rather than overwhelming — restoring clarity, confidence and emotional balance.
