Sometimes people have a problem with being able to settle after change has happened to them by choice or otherwise and this can include a divorce or separation, adapting to life stages such as children leaving home, menopause, new jobs, losing a job or leaving university or the forces.

Sometimes there was trauma involved in the previous experience such as in a workplace or a relationship and this means a person cannot move on and feels stuck, depressed, low in energy or just out of sorts.

Of course stress can cause mental health difficulties but in many cases, people are managing so much and so well that it is often overlooked that actually, the person is not feeling very happy despite the feeling that they perhaps should be.
